The festival is a temporal, fantastical holiday accommodated on a forgotten block or in the outskirts of a city. It allows for opposition between permanence and the mobile, between the everyday and the spectacle, between the reserved and spontaneous self-expresser. The experience of a temporal heterotopia is a rediscovery of time,in contrast to a library or museum. How does the festival redefine politics of space both architectural and culturally during its meek existence in time, and is it lasting?
